Each year Weston Museum plays host to a number of events which provide opportunities for both enthusiasts and families to enjoy a great day out.
North Somerset is part of “Know Your Place”, an online mapping and local history project. This is a free digital mapping project which allows users to explore the heritage of their local area through old maps, archive images and linked information. From the coastal communities of Portishead, Clevedon and Weston, further inland to Blagdon and Leigh Woods, you can now discover how North Somerset has been transformed over time.
Heritage officers from North Somerset Council and staff and volunteers from Weston Museum would like to invite you to an open event where you can learn more about how to use Know Your Place, and even add some interesting information yourself!
Drop in anytime between 11am and 3pm to find out more, no need to book for this free entry event.
Please note – this event has been postponed until September. More details soon to follow. Apologies for any inconvenience

Weston Museum’s monthly tea and talk usually takes place on the 3rd Saturday of the month and features a wide variety of subjects and speakers from our wonderful band of volunteers. Enjoy a short talk followed by a drink and some cake, with the opportunity for an informal chat with the speaker.
There is no need to book ahead and the small charge of £3 includes tea or coffee as well as some of the delicious homemade cake, baked on site at the museum.
Future topics will be announced on our Facebook page (@westonmuseum), with the first talk in June given by Andy Stanley on the subject ‘2,000 Years of carelessness – the history of our area and some examples of what was left behind in our fields’.
