Lego Workshops – Pirates! @ Weston Museum
Apr 1 @ 10:30 – 16:00

2 lego pirates

Come along to a family friendly lego workshop, led by the team from Gincandescence, who are brilliant with lego building. Get inspired by our temporary exhibition focussing on beards and tattoos and create your own pirate scene; with ships, desert islands, buried treasure or even parrots!

Workshops last for one hour at timed slots throughout the day (on both Saturday and Sunday); tickets should be bought in advance, as numbers are limited. You can do this from Saturday 27th January onwards by popping in to our museum reception or by giving us a call (you can pay by card over the phone).
Ticket costs are £3 per child, £5 for 2 children together.

As per lego advice, we are accepting children of age 4 and up (children aged just under 4 can attend too, but only if the parent or carer stays with them to supervise closely. Children under 3 will unfortunately not be able to take part on this occasion). Please be aware that adults will need to stay within earshot/sight of children, but are free to enjoy the café by sitting at one of the tables just next to the Learning Space (enjoy a peaceful cuppa whilst your children enjoy some lego building!).

Easter Holidays Pirate Craft @ Weston Museum
Apr 2 @ 11:00 – 15:00
Easter Holidays Pirate Craft @ Weston Museum | England | United Kingdom

Keep your kids busy in the holidays this Easter and join in with some pirate craft and dressing up!

Our exciting new exhibition ‘The Art of Self-Expression’ showcases the history of beards and tattoos. In honour of this great display, we are transforming into pirates (some of the most beardy and tattooed people we know!).

Pretend to be a pirate by doing some dressing up and trying out some fake beard styles of your own, then have a go at making some pirate craft bits. During the second week of the holidays, we will be joined again by the great ‘Rainbow Sands’; with them you can make your own piratey sand art – Check out their Facebook page here.

In the middle weekend of the Easter holidays, you can also take part in some pirate themed lego workshops – read more about them here.

Weston Museum Quiz Night @ Weston Museum
Apr 11 @ 18:30 – 21:00

mini ad for pub quiz

*CANCELLED* With England stomping through the rounds and football fever gripping the country, we suspect that many of you will be rather occupied this Wednesday, so we are calling off this month’s quiz night. We will see you all again for next month’s quiz on Wednesday 8th August 🙂

Try your luck at our monthly quiz night; learn a little about your local history and have a laugh at the same time.

During our refurbishment closure, we travelled around the local pubs with our own brand of fun and interesting, but definitely not serious, quizzes. Now that we have our lovely building back, you can come in and join us here. You don’t need lots of historical knowledge; we promise to keep the questions simple, with only the occasional head scratcher thrown in. The quiz includes a mystery object round, so whilst you’re enjoying your drink from our bar of locally sourced drinks and nibbles, you can also have a guess at a selection of historical objects and replicas.

Only £5 to enter a team (of up to five people) and there is a prize for the winning team. Numbers are limited so you can book in advance to guarantee your team a slot, but if there is space then we won’t turn you away on the night. Join us from 6.30, ready for the quiz to start at 7.30pm.

Any questions? Just give the team a call or send us an email.
