On Monday, we will be joined by some real Romans (reeneactors, but don’t tell anyone!), so you can meet a Roman, learn about what life was like under the rule of the empire and even have a go at some military marching!
The museum is free entry all year round. Monday’s Roman event in our lovely covered courtyard area is free to enter too and you don’t need to book on this day, but other events throughout the week need to be booked in advance.

On Tuesday, you can book to take part in a Viking experience; children can dress up like a Viking and have their own rune symbol painted on their face to get into the Viking battle spirit. You can try some Viking food and play a game, all followed by a story of Viking mythology around the campfire!
The museum is free entry, but this session must be booked in advance and takes place in our Learning Space. Tickets cost £5 per child or £8 for 2 children (accompanying adults are free, but there is only space for 1 adult per child).
Tickets can be booked in advance by either popping into the museum or calling 01934621028, from 27th January onwards. If you wish to pre-register a place during our January closure period (8th-26th Jan), please email the museum at museum@wsm-tc.gov.uk and we will contact you from 27th January to take the payment, which will confirm the place (payments must all be received by at least a week prior to the event).
