Each year Weston Museum plays host to a number of events which provide opportunities for both enthusiasts and families to enjoy a great day out.
Weston Museum’s exciting new temporary exhibition on facial hair and tattoos through the ages features both historical and modern examples of self expression. A photographer has been out capturing some local faces to feature amongst the range of beards, mustaches and body art.
Come along and compare your own styles and artwork with others from across the area and across time!
The exhibition is free entry and will be open during standard museum opening times of 10am – 5pm, 7 days a week. There will also be a variety of activities and events for all ages running alongside the exhibition, with talks for those interested in learning more and pirate themed activities for families!
For all of human history, we have been doing things to make our bodies beautiful, in honour of our current exhibition ‘The Art of Self-Expression; facial hair and tattoos through the ages’, we will be showcasing decorating the human body.
We will be joined by some wonderful contributors who will be offering henna, body painting, special effects make up and colour analysis. There will also be demonstrations of production arts hair and make up from our lovely local college students, and even some drag make up demos! Kids can get involved too with some dressing up and there will be a competition to create the best tattoo design.
The main demonstrations and services will be on show between 10am and 4pm.
If you are interested in being one of our artists or stylists for a day or more during this event then email the team – you must be able to supply copies of all the relevant insurance and licenses to take part.
