Lego Workshops – Build a Dream Museum! @ Weston Museum
Oct 21 @ 10:30 – 16:00

Come along to a family friendly lego workshop, led by the team from Gincandescence, who are brilliant with lego building. Create your own dream museum inspired by our lovely new temporary exhibition ‘Making Weston Museum’. The exhibition shows the recent redevelopment of our museum, but the work doesn’t stop there. We will soon be applying for more funding to begin our second phase of redevelopment work and we want your ideas on what would make a brilliant museum!

Workshops are for one hour at timed slots throughout the day, tickets can be bought in advance from the museum reception, as numbers are limited. Ticket costs are £3 per child, £5 for 2 children together. Please be aware that adults will need to stay within earshot/sight of children, but are free to enjoy the café by sitting at one of the tables just next to the Learning Space (enjoy a peaceful cuppa whilst your children enjoy some lego building!)

Halloween Half-Term Family Crafts @ Weston Museum
Oct 23 @ 11:00 – 16:00

Join us for some scary skeleton and ghostly ghoul themed craft activities this October half term. Family friendly drop in activities will be available in the museum from Monday to Thursday 11-4.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, between 1pm and 3pm each day, we will also be joined by the team from Rainbow Sands, a local crafty mum and daughter duo. Join them to create your own sand art image with a halloween theme. It’s great fun and pretty much any age/ability can produce a brilliant looking picture. It’s a pre-cut pattern so easy to lift off a section of the paper to reveal the sticky surface so no glue needed. Just spoon on the sand, shake off the excess and repeat until your picture is complete.

To see more of Rainbow crafts work, head to their Facebook page

You can also take part in our Halloween themed trail around the galleries and spot some of our real Iron Age skeletons, including our mascot, Rusty the dog!
