SUMMARY:Wild Hares and Hummingbirds
DESCRIPTION:Wild Hares and Hummingbirds \n  \n  \nWild Hares and Hummingbirds\nBased on the book\, ‘Wild Hares and Hummingbirds: The Natural History of an English Village’\, by the naturalist Stephen Moss. Stephen is one of Britain’s leading natural history writers\, broadcasters and wildlife television producers. His book tells the story of wildlife through the seasons in his home village of Mark\, on the edge of the Somerset Levels. The exhibition brings together his celebrated nature writing with beautiful\, original illustration by the graphic artist Stephanie Cole. Stephanie is probably best known in the West Country for her striking illustrations that decorate the interiors at Gloucester Services. \nWild Hares and Hummingbirds: The Natural History of an English Village opens at Weston Museum in Weston-super-Mare on 18th May and will run until 18th September.

SUMMARY:Home Educators Session - Our Green Heritage
DESCRIPTION:Nature and Archaeology join together for a fun interactive session exploring the things we throw into or dig out of the ground and whether today’s trash is tomorrow’s treasure (or not!). The session will be filled with hands on activities around sustainability\, archaeological finds and the natural environment. \nSessions are designed to be active and accessible for a range of ages and abilities\, but are generally aimed at Key Stage 2 level. If you would like to let us know about any specific considerations for your children then we would welcome this\, just get in touch. \nThis event will take place out in the open at Ellenborough Park West\, the section closest to the seafront\, which is now a wellbeing park. You can enter the park via one of the two side gates and head to the museum pop-up tent to sign in. \nTickets need to be purchased for each child attending\, but parents/carers do not need to purchase a separate ticket (although they will need to stay with their children during the session). \nTickets cost £5 per child and can be booked via Ticketsource or by popping into or phoning the museum directly. \n
