Her artistic journey began with a heartfelt initiative called ‘Humans of Weston\,’ which she created as a way to honour and acknowledge the diverse individuals residing in her local area. \nInitially\, ‘Humans of Weston’ comprised a collection of striking portraits accompanied by life stories. \nGrowing up on an estate marked by social deprivation\, Bev’s personal experiences shaped her perspective on the power of art to bring people together. With this vision in mind\, she transformed ‘Humans of Weston’ into a CIC which she is the managing director of and created a platform for fostering connections within the community through creativity. As part of this evolution\, she created a local radio show titled ‘Humans of Weston.’ \nBev’s passion lies in developing socially engaging projects that empower individuals to stretch their imaginations\, cultivate ideas\, and showcase their creativity to the world. By doing so\, she creates invaluable experiences that forge deep connections\, enhances community spirit\, and promote self-esteem among participants. \nAs a visual artist\, Bev’s talents have garnered recognition and numerous commissions. She has been commissioned by Upfest\, Europe’s largest Street Art & Graffiti festival\, where her works have added to the festival’s vibrant atmosphere. Culture Weston\, has also sought Bev’s artistic creativity for their Glow event for two consecutive years\, including the Super Shrines project and Climate Carnival. Including Weston Arboretum’s light festival. \nRecognising the significance of collaboration and community involvement\, Bev has collaborated with North Somerset Community Learning\, working closely with the wider community. Her inclusive approach knows no boundaries\, as she fervently believes in encouraging people from all walks of life to find their voice and take charge in bringing their ideas to life. \nBev G Star’s artistic journey is a testament to the profound impact that art can have on individuals and communities alike. Through her unwavering dedication\, she continues to uplift\, inspire\, and celebrate the people and places that have shaped her life.

SUMMARY:Capturing Moments Through Time: A1 Camera Club’s Exhibition at Weston Museum
DESCRIPTION:A1 Camera Club\, a vibrant community of photography enthusiasts\, is delighted to announce its upcoming exhibition at Weston Museum. This showcase of stunning work is running from September 5th to September 16th. \n\nPreserving the Past\, Framing the Future\nIn the late 1970s\, a group of mature students embarked on a photography course at Weston College. As bonds of friendship formed\, an idea took root: rather than dispersing after the course’s end\, these passionate photographers chose to unite under the banner of shared creativity. Meeting in local pubs\, they birthed a formal entity in 1981 – the A1 Camera Club – inspired by the iconic Canon A1 35mm SLR camera. \nCapturing Timeless Moments\nFrom its first documented meeting in 1981\, the A1 Camera Club has navigated a remarkable journey. From informal gatherings in local pubs to weekly meetings and thriving exhibitions\, the Club’s dedication to its craft has remained steadfast. Even during the challenging pandemic period\, the Club adapted\, embracing virtual meetings that welcomed new members and inspired creativity. \nShaping the Community Through the Lens\nThe A1 Camera Club isn’t just about photography; it’s about community engagement. Through the lens\, club members have supported local charities\, captured events of historical significance\, and contributed to the visual tapestry of Weston-super-Mare. Their work has enriched exhibitions\, publications\, and even played a role in the restoration of Weston Museum. \nJoin Us\nMark your calendars and join us for the A1 Camera Club Annual Exhibition at Weston Museum\, September 5th to September 16th\, 2023. Experience the artistry\, celebrate the history\, and embrace the future of photography with A1 Camera Club.\nFor more information about visit www.a1cameraclubweston.org
