Past, Present and Future
Weston Museum’s Community Gallery tells the story of Weston and its people.
Weston super Mare is home to a broad cross-section of communities and each one has a story to tell. Our work with community groups has allowed us to share their stories with locals and visitors alike.
So far we have been delighted to work with the following groups to help celebrate their stories:
- Greek Cypriots of Weston
- North Somerset Black & Ethnic Minority group
- Alzheimer’s Society
- Uphill Village Society
- The Spanish Civil War and the West Country
- Weston Pride LGBT+
- Citizens Advice

Looking After the Layers of Somerset: Archaeology and Nature in the Care of the National Trust
Dates: Friday 10th July – Saturday 31st October 2026
The exhibition is co-curated with the National Trust, with input from Museum and National Trust volunteers and students. It explores the role of the National Trust in the Somerset area and their work looking after former military and defensive sites as well as caring for the environment. The exhibition features a touchscreen interactive with information, images and oral history recordings with key people.
The Community Gallery houses a professional display case which allows community groups to display artefacts and our interactive touch screen helps you explore images, videos and oral history recordings.
The Community Gallery is put together by museum volunteers and has been made possible by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Sharing Heritage grant.
