Our hireable rooms are suitable for most types of private and corporate hire (including exhibitions). Our impressive architecture creates the perfect backdrop for your chosen event. Our dedicated Functions team is on hand to help fulfil your vision.
Located a short walk from the beach and the High Street, and within walking distance from the train station, local bus routes and even multi-storey car parks, the Museum is a centrally located venue.
The glass roof in our main Courtyard allows plenty of natural light into this historic, charming venue.
Our three hire spaces are suitable for almost every occasion, and the spaces lend themselves beautifully to be styled however you wish. Our spaces provide a unique setting for corporate events and meetings, parties, family celebrations and more.

At the heart of the Museum is the Courtyard. From the cobbled floor to the striking glass roof, this truly unique space gives off the ‘wow factor’ that you are looking for in your chosen event.
Please Note: The Courtyard is only available for hire after opening hours, or for week-long exhibitions. This is because the Courtyard is the main hub of the Museum and is needed for the public to access all of our facilities.

Our newly refurbished Function Suite can be found on the first floor of the Museum, through the Tides of Change (art gallery) foyer.
This space is excellent for meetings, community groups and wedding ceremonies, and can be supplied with tables and chairs, and the use of a projector, lectern or flip chart on request.

The Learning Space
The Learning Space is located on the ground floor of the Museum, adjacent to the Courtyard.
Its setup lends itself to being the ideal place for your conference or meeting, with a solid Wi-Fi connection and a projector available. The room can also be supplied with tables and chairs, and the use of a lectern, flip chart or other meeting materials on request

With stunning views of the Museum courtyard, Clara’s Café offers a wide range of function menus. From tea and coffee to buffets and bars. All dietary requirements are catered for.
