Learning and Heritage Administration Officer

Are you someone who has a passion for education and a love of history?

Weston-super-Mare Town Council is looking for an administration professional with a specific interest in history and education, to join our Weston Museum team as our Learning & Heritage Administration Officer, working under the leadership of the Weston Museum Services Manager.

You will co-ordinate all learning and heritage bookings from initial enquiry to successful completion, including payment, feedback and data recording.

This is a key role within the Museum, supporting our formal and informal learning, community and heritage services

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of Weston Museum, delivering excellent customer service, effective communication and consistency to schools, individuals and organisations.

The role is rewarding and varied. This role is key to the successful delivery of both our popular learning and heritage services.

You must be a capable team member and be able to use your initiative. You should be enthusiastic about customer service, be willing to learn and share learning.

The post also supports the wider Museum Team and works collaboratively across departments.

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

  • Has previous experience in administration
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workload effectively
  • High attention to detail
  • Professional and customer focused approach, providing excellent customer service to all
  • Is proactive and solutions focused
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage heritage and education enquiries from a range of local organisations interested in our learning or heritage services
  • Develop new and maintain current relationships with service users
  • To promote learning and heritage resources throughout the wider Museum
  • Maintain and evaluate data related to our learning or heritage services
  • To support museum events as required
  • To encourage volunteer engagement with our learning and heritage projects / sessions

Hours: 16 hours per week (Working days are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with 1 Saturday per month also in rotation)

Contract: Permanent

Location: Weston-super-Mare

Grade: LC1 (7-12) actual salary £11,417
