A William Mable Gallery Exhibition

The PLAY! Experience has been created with a multi-generational family audience in mind. There’s opportunities to play, use your imagination, enjoy nostalgia and share memories. The gallery is divided into 4 zones; Game On! Create! Imagine! and Explore Outdoors! Each zone highlights different styles of play.
There are interactive elements where visitors can touch, try or play. These elements are identified by symbols along with instructions. We want both kids and adults to have a great time in the PLAY! experience, so we’ve made everything super easy.
Looking After the Layers of Somerset:
Archaeology and Nature in the Care of the National Trust
Friday 10 July 2026 – Saturday 31st October 2026
The exhibition is co-curated with the National Trust, with input from Museum and National Trust volunteers and students. It explores the role of the National Trust in the Somerset area and their work looking after former military and defensive sites as well as caring for the environment.
The exhibition features a touchscreen interactive with information, images and oral history recordings with key people.

Craft Café celebrates the beauty of sharing knowledge and the magic of learning from one another.

Come along to our Monthly Market, and support your local small businesses!
We will be joined by a wonderful bunch of local businesses and makers on the last Saturday of every month (excluding December) in our wonderful and atmospheric Courtyard!
With our wide and wonderful range of local stallholders and businesses, we’re sure you’ll find the perfect gift for a loved one (or yourself!). Our stallholders also change regularly, meaning every month has a unique mix of stalls!
Clara’s Café will have its usual tempting treats, alongside some occasional seasonal specialities!

Join the Chatty Café – a friendly, welcoming space run by our wonderful volunteers where people can come together, chat, and feel at ease. It’s the perfect place for anyone who may be feeling lonely, new to the area, or simply looking to meet others and enjoy good conversation in a safe and supportive environment.
Whether you stay for a quick cuppa or a longer visit, you’ll always find a warm welcome and a friendly face.
