Members of the Know Your Place museum volunteer team, have been working hard to produce a new exhibition titled, “Weston-super-Mare and Surrounding Area – Then and Now”.  The exhibition can be seen from Thursday 17th March until Friday 1st April 2022.

Volunteers have researched their favourite images from the Know Your Place website, along with recent photographs to show what the locations look like now. The locations include the town itself and the surrounding area including Uphill. A1 Camera Club have kindly given permission for the museum to reproduce images of Uphill.

The volunteers have learnt skills such as photography, framing images, writing captions and how to mount an exhibition.

Know Your Place is an online mapping resource that allows you to search maps, images and information for the west of England.

Weston Museum, supported by Weston-super-Mare Town Council, is working in partnership with North Somerset Council to enhance Know Your Place North Somerset. The project has been supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the Great Weston Heritage Action Zone. It is currently funded by the High Street Action Zone.

Weston Museum would like to say thank you the volunteer team, A1 Camera Club, Historic England, North Somerset Council and Weston-super-Mare Town Council.
