Born in London Peter moved to Weston when he was two years old. He started a catering career at fourteen, back in the day when it was normal to get a ‘washing-up job’ and graduate to pealing spuds. He then went on to train in catering at Weston College. He joined the army at twenty and spent twenty-two years as a chef and chef catering instructor, serving across Europe and South Atlantic. When he left the Army he worked across the UK with Yum Brands, Unilever and Elior as Area Catering Manager, and finally moved back to Weston with his wife of forty-four years and his two sons, where he worked across various care establishments.
Keeping ahead of the curve Peter likes to research and loves to eat out and enjoy a fine meal with fine wine. He enjoys all aspects of cooking from European cooking to Chinese food and loves making homemade cakes. He is looking forward to a more ‘face to face’ public catering in his role at the Museum.
What do you expect to see from Peter?
Peter is looking to develop the lunch offering and cake range of the café. His favourite cake is chocolate and beetroot, and that is one way to get children to eat vegetables! The café also caters for our functions, be it for Weddings, private family functions & parties, making use of the unique Museum environment.
Come and say hi to Peter and see what’s on offer at Clara’s Café.
